OpenStudy (hunterj68):

Okay, so the universe is continually expanding. Eventually, it won't be able to expand anymore, and some scientists believe that a "big crunch" may happen. If such an event is to happen and time does go backwards, wouldn't that mean that we would get a second chance to see our life? That we'd all be brought back to life?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think so. Expansion and contraction take place in different definite periods of time. I mean contraction of mass cannot stop the time. What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the big crunch theory is based on when dark energy which is causing the expansion is taken over gravity, which I thing there's low chance of that and what are you saying of time going backward it doesn't happen based on general theory of relativity the space time is a continuum and in order to travel in time you have to actually go faster than speed of light and by gravity taking over I don't think so It would happen !

OpenStudy (hunterj68):

But, we don't exactly have time figured out, nor do we have the relation between gravity and time figured out. Plus isn't it possible that one of the other 6 dimensions isn't spacial, but time backwards?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually there's relation between gravity and time and that is called time dilation at higher gravity time slows down which directly corresponds higher speed and if you want to get a good insight have a peek at Einsiten theory of special relativity and general relativity and as per dimension they are purely theoretical
