I need help answering a few questions related to a homework assignment due.
Alright, here's a kickstart for ya. The diary of Anne Frank needs to be firstly looked at as way different from any other diary you might expect to read. Diaries are known as books in which you record down various events, what those events mean to you, and how those events may have affected you or another person in relation to you. Its mainly why they exist. But the diary of Anne Frank is different in the form of how a girl living in circumstances that were out of her control had to cope with life, with love, and with the inner fight to stay sane, strong, and diligent in her abilities to not let it all put her over the edge. Writing was her talent, so she put it to use to not only record the events surrounding her, but her emotions, her memories, and her constant annoyance with petty people who were fighting with each other on trivial matters in the midst of a war. The historical context was world war II. This shaped Anne Franks diary because essentially the war shaped her feelings, emotions, and also portrayed the girl she turned into. It gave her perspective. It shaped her thoughts. It shaped her moral values. It shaped her dreams. It reminded her that life is short and at the same time it is deeply lonely. It made her fall in love with a boy named Peter who lived with her, and get to know him, and get to have something in common with as well. It made her realize how much she had a hard time confiding in people in her (and what should have been others) time of need. Conclusion should be....it shaped HER. I must also own up to the fact that her diary is a masterpiece that I am proud to own on my bookshelf! There is a couple of thoughts there that maybe you could incorporate. :)
