Do you think that the changes in industry during the 1800's were a "revolution?" Why or why not?
The word "revolution" in physics means a complete cycle or 360 degree turn. So none of the events in history that we call revolution is correctly labeled in that sense. We tend to think of social revolutions as a complete turning in a new direction. More of a 180 than a full turn. So the Industrial Revolution would fit this definition if you can show that in areas of labor, manufacturing, economics and such made a turn away from the way things had been done. The answer seems to be yes. You just need to supply an example or two. Shouldn't be hard to illustrate the change in clothing manufacture, travel, communication and the nature of labor caused by IR.
