Will medal and fan Which does not show a direct variation between X & Y? A. Y = 5X B. Y = 6/X C. Y = 0.7X D. Y = X/9

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

A direct variation has a constant ratio - generally in the form a*x. 3 of these are under that form. Which one is not?

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

In other words - it is a direct variation if y/x = a. but x MUST be the denominator. For example, the direct variation factor of a would be 5, because y/x will ALWAYS be 5.

Oh okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would the answer be A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@wilsondanielle

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

you want the one that does NOT show direct variation. A shows direct variation.

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

Look for the one that doesn't have a constant value for y/x
