OpenStudy (jasonderubis):

Which of the following is the most accurate statement of the law of conservation of momentum? The total momentum of a system of objects before and after an interaction is the same, if there are no outside forces acting. When two objects collide, the momentum of each object stays the same. The impulse acting on an object is equal to the momentum change it causes on another object. Momentum is a vector quantity.

OpenStudy (z4k4r1y4):

Hint: When something is conserved it means whatever its value was before the event is the same after the event. So in this case ‘momentum before = momentum after’.

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (shamim):

Do u know wt is momentum

OpenStudy (shamim):

Momentum = p=mv

OpenStudy (shamim):

m=mass of object

OpenStudy (shamim):

v=velocity of object

OpenStudy (shamim):

So momentum is a product of mass nd velocity

OpenStudy (shamim):

If 2 objects collide with each other, then each of them has momentum b4 nd after collision

OpenStudy (shamim):

If u add 2 momentum of 2 different objects b4 collision

OpenStudy (shamim):

Then add 2 momentum of those 2 objects after collision

OpenStudy (shamim):

U will get the same number
