So you need to first figure out how much brown sugar is needed for one dozen cookies. Do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. That is the question. I know that for 10 cookies I need 1 1/2 cups. I just do not know how many cups I need for that extra 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I need to find out how many cups I need for each cookie and then multiply that by 12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I apologize. I did not see that I needed to make 12 DOZEN cookies.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I can handle it. Thank you.

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

You could do that, but you could also just add the amount of brown sugar in one cup twice to the amount of brown sugar in 10 cups. To find the unit rate you're going to need to set up the proportion. \[\frac{ 5 }{ 0.75}=\] Oh okay. :D
