Algebra 2. Please help! Fan and medal will be given:) thank you! 1. Explain how to find the degree of a polynomial. 2. Can you always use synthetic division for dividing polynomials? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2. You can only use synthetic division when the divisor is of the form (x-y)

You can only use synthetic division when the divisor is of the form example: x-y

oh... lol @TI-84 is correct

OpenStudy (ray1998):

Lol thank you guys :) ^.^

Determine the degree of the polynomial Example: 3x2 + x + 33? Just use the 'formula' for finding the degree of a polynomial. ie--look for the value of the largest exponent the answer is 2 since the first term is squared . Remember coefficients have nothing at all do to with the degree ..... Site Used: http://www.mathwarehouse.com/algebra/polynomial/degree-of-polynomial.php

I hope I helped..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The degree of a polynomial can be found by adding the exponents of all of the terms. The term that has the biggest number (the number is the exponents in the term added together) is the degree.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^^ correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Example: 17x^3*y^2+43x^2+10, the degree is 5 (3+2 in the first term).

OpenStudy (ray1998):

You we're both, oh so helpful! Thank you guys very very much. You guys are awesome :) @TI-84 and @Mc_Helper
