OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

which is true about the response variable i. this used to be called the dependent variable ii. when graphing the data, the response variable is plotted along the x-axis A. only i B. only ii C. both i and ii I think its A D niether i or ii

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

Well, I know for sure that the response variable is definitely also known as the response variable. Also, when you graph the IV and DV, usually I think the IV goes on the x axsis, so I believe you are correct.

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

ok so i thought that if its on the x-axis its either dependent or indy... so that means both variables are just observed, but you suspect a casual relationship between them, put "the cause" on the x-axis and it would more than likely reside along the x since

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

well tihs is interesting to me

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

i think that.. for example: a response variable on the y axis is only i now its seems very uncler though whether it would possibly not go on the x axis

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

http://www.cdn.sciencebuddies.org/Files/460/9/project_graph.gif So in this chart, the dependent variable is the x axis. I can see your concern.

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

hmm... i still thinkits "only i" becaue of what i said prior

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

I'm agreeing with you! You are correct! I made a mistake the DV is on the y. Silly me. This is a good question. Have a medal.
