-3/4n=-36 n= ?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Have you tried it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 1/48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Nope how did you get that? (it's almost right)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I divided -3/4 and 36/1, flipped the second fraction and changed division to multiplication, crosscancled and got 1/48

pooja195 (pooja195):

\[\huge~\rm~\bf \color{red}{\frac{ 4 }{ -3 }} \times \frac{ -3 }{ 4 } =-36 \times \color{red}{\frac{ 4 }{ -3 }}\]

pooja195 (pooja195):

Multiply by the reciprocal The left side cancels out \[\huge~\rm~\bf~n =-36 \times \color{red}{\frac{ 4 }{ -3 }}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

pooja195 (pooja195):

lemme know what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So just 48 only?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pooja195 (pooja195):
