OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

Using the slope formula for the points (1, 5) and (2, -2), what would the denominator be? -2 - 5 -2 - 1 2 - 1 2 - 5

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

Do you know what the formula is?

OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

no i dont help me please

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

This is the formula. Do you know how to plug everything in? :)

OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

i think x is the first number and y is the second number and i put each point on top of eachother am i right?

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

yes :)

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

let me know what you get :)

OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

1 2 - - 5 -2 is that right?

OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

i think the answer is -2-1?

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

You should be putting y2 first - y1 then on the bottom x2 - x1.

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

what they mean by y2 is the second point. so since it's (1,5) and (2,-2) -2 would be y2

OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

so it is -2-1

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

I did -2-5 ---- 2-1

OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

ok so its 2-1

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

Yes :)

OpenStudy (oliviagggg):

Thank You :)

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

No problem :D
