Could you explain this to me real quick?
So im dealing with a slope. And the slope using rise/ run is 3/3... Would i keep it as 3/3 or would it change it to 1 or what would i do?
@dan815
Also since the slope is 3/3 would there be a reciprocal slope?
Well, you can simplify it to 1, and the slope would \[\frac{ 1 }{ 1 }\] c:
It wouldn't change anything, it just would make the slope line more filled with points! c:
Would the reciprocal be -1?
The reciprocal of the slope would just be the same c:
I think you're talking about the reciprocal of a different method. For slopes, you would just flip it :3
*reciprocal
I thought reciprocals always multiply together to equal -1
Oh, yes, then flip the sign, sorry about that xP c:
What do you mean flip the sign?
When I say flip the sign, I put instead of a positive, it turns into a negative c:
So we have 1/1 then the negative reciprocal would be -1/1?
yes! :3
okay so what would the opposite slope of 1/1 be? -1/1 again right?
Yes, the reciprocal would be either \[\frac{ -1 }{ 1 } \] or \[\frac{ 1 }{ -1 }\] doesn't matter if you put the negative on top or bottom, the slope line would be the same c:
okay thank you!!! I think if figured it out :)
My pleasure! :DD Do you understand, or are you a bit confused? >.<
