Can you explain how to do this? Evaluate sin 48°. Round to the nearest thousandth. Thank you!

OpenStudy (igigighjkl):

Do you want awnser?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I know the answer, I just don't know how to get there. If that makes sense??

OpenStudy (igigighjkl):

I used a calculator because I don't know this grade.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, what did you put into the calculator and what did you get?

OpenStudy (freckles):

This is a calculator question. Just make sure your calc is in degree modes and put in sin(48).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh!! Wow!! Thats so easy! Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What if there is no degrees mode? Is there an alternate I could use to find the sine ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, nvm the scientific mode has it too

OpenStudy (freckles):

let me know what you get and I will check it remember round to nearest thousandth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, I got sin 48° ≈ 0.743

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldn't that be to the thousandth?

OpenStudy (freckles):

sounds great

OpenStudy (freckles):

yep that 3 is the thousandths digit

OpenStudy (freckles):

and since the number in the ten thousandths digit was less than 5 we leave the 3 as is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome! Thx again!!

OpenStudy (freckles):
