What's the equation for maxima in a Single slit experiment?

OpenStudy (z4k4r1y4):

I know for minima you have: \[w \sin \theta=n\lambda\]

OpenStudy (z4k4r1y4):

\[w=width\] \[n=integer\]

OpenStudy (ilovemath14):

isnt this math realated?

OpenStudy (z4k4r1y4):

It's a physics question to do with interference in waves.

OpenStudy (ilovemath14):

oh idk. im in physical science

OpenStudy (z4k4r1y4):

Ok np

OpenStudy (ilovemath14):

sorry

OpenStudy (z4k4r1y4):

No worries

OpenStudy (z4k4r1y4):

@IrishBoy123 ?

OpenStudy (farcher):

Minima occur between the maxima. So instead of n(integer) lambda you now need to use ( n + 1/2 ) lambda with n greater or equal to one.
