here is a trick. whenever you have those sorts of questions; multiply the whole number by the denominator and add it to the numerator. put that number above the origional denominator and use a calculator to simplify.

Yes but you need to ensure that littleelfie understands how you got the answer. At openstudy we should guide the student to the answer. Just given him a direct answer does not help him understand.
