OpenStudy (mathmale):

w+y=z/x and xw+xy=z These two equations are identical. Check this out. You can't solve specifically for x without having values for w, y and z, but you can write x interms of w, y and z. In other words, your solution will be an algebraic formula without numeric values.

They are identical and you can tell they are identical because if on the equation on the left you multiplied the x onto both sides x(w+y) = zx/x you would be left with the equation on the right xw+xy = z
