OpenStudy (jv0408):

I'm need help. really bad at English and if I don't pass I wont graduate. Which lines in this excerpt from Elizabeth Bishop's "The Fish" use assonance? A) he was speckled with barnacles B) Fine Rosettes of lime C)With tiny white sea-lice D) While his gills were breathing in E) fresh and crisp with blood F) I thought of the coarse white flesh

OpenStudy (willt):

C Assonance is the repetition of the same vowels in non-rhyming words. The letter i is used to make the words tie together without them rhyming.

OpenStudy (jv0408):

is there any other answers?

OpenStudy (jv0408):

@willt

OpenStudy (willt):

I would say no, but some could be considered assonance; B) Fine and lime D) While his gills and in Those would the only ones I would guess, definitely C but B and D could be considered as well.

OpenStudy (jv0408):

thanks
