Which expression is equivalent to 2(m − 5) + 6? 2m − 1 2m + 22 2m − 4 2m + 16

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Use PEMDAS ^^ So we would mulitply...\[2(m-5)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 5 x 2 ?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Kinda ^^ we would do this \[2 \times m \]and \[2 \times -5\] to get a simplified equation...

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Remember when multiplying a number with a variable it would equal... #m... where # is a number and m is the variable...but if we multiply two like variables it would equal m^2 where m is the variable and the caret is to the power of... so in this case 2 times m equals 2m

563blackghost (563blackghost):

were you able to get the simplified equation of 2(m-5) ?
