OpenStudy (dunnitagainn):

If two people are selected at random, find the probability that they were both born in January

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For this one, we know that there are 12 months in a year, so one person already is 1/12 probable to be born in January. Since in this problem there is two people, you have 1/12 and another 1/12. Now, you would multiply these together, and 12 times 12 is 144, so the probability of two people born in January is 1/144 :)

OpenStudy (dunnitagainn):

I thought that might be what it is, but wouldn't you need to divide by the probability that it is just the first person born in January, because the second part only matters if it is given that the first person is born in January? I am probability completely wrong here.
