Ok so I recently did a lab in which we irradiated Serratia Marcescens bacteria with UV light. A couple of questions on the lab report I can't get. Please help!
The first one I'm having trouble with is...Do you think all of the mutations you observe in the bacteria after irradiation are harmful, why/why not? second: why did you wrap the plates in foil after you irradiated them, would the results change if they were not wrapped in foil; I figure that we put them in foil so that the repair enzyme in the bacteria would be inactive so the mutations could occur. The result would be that there would be less mutated colonies. Third: Why was one of the 30sec plates exposed to light after irradiation? I suppose this would be so that the repair enzyme would be activated for a bit, correct?
@zepdrix @Luigi0210 @Awolflover1 Can any of you help here?
The first one is entirely up to u as it is a question on ur opinion, so whichever one u think it is
@ILovePuppiesLol What about the other 2?
the second one is correct
i think the 3rd once is right too
