Help Medal Will Be Awarded. Which archetypal character is represented in the following passage? Directly he began to speed toward the rear in great leaps. His rifle and cap were gone. His unbuttoned coat bulged in the wind. The flap of his cartridge box bobbed wildly, and his canteen, by its slender cord, swung out behind. On his face was all the horror of those things which he imagined. (from The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane) A-a hero B-a coward C-an apprentice D-a stranger

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Have you read the entire thing?

OpenStudy (chazz16):

@ltrout Yes I Have

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Alright what do you think it is? I haven't read this so I'm not fully sure about the characters but to me he sounds either A or C most likely

OpenStudy (chazz16):

I Think Its A

OpenStudy (ltrout):

I think A would be your best choice as well. I haven't read it fully but just that little excerpt makes A the best option :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sounds like a coward to me he abandoned his gun and cap and is running toward the rear which is away from the fight

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah this is red badge of courage in this excerpt he is a coward which is what changes between now and the end of the book
