1.How many solutions does the system x + y = 3 and 2x + 2y = 5 have? A. no solutions B. one solution C. two solutions D. an infinite number of solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk can you explain it

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

solve each for "y" what do they give you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm are you supposed to "solve" it or just to find how many solutions it has?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many solution

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so... solve each for "y" let's see what you get first then :) then we can see their "slope" and their slopes will tell us how many solutions same slope, no solution difference slopes, one solution same slope and same y-intercept, infinite solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is B because that equation ends up being the same number as it is.:):) ithink

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

check your PM

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

the equation ends up what? hmmm anyhow, solve for "y" on both first
