lets write 4\[\sqrt{2x}\] as y
what is 4y + 6y ?
OpenStudy (liv1234):
10y?
OpenStudy (welshfella):
right
now replace y by 4 sqrt2x and you have ur answer
OpenStudy (welshfella):
* 4th root of 2x

I'm confused, wait so something like 10 ^ 4 sqrt 2x?
OpenStudy (liv1234):
\[10^4\sqrt{2x}\]
OpenStudy (welshfella):
no
its 10 * 4th root 2x
OpenStudy (welshfella):

Can you check another question for me?
OpenStudy (welshfella):
ok
OpenStudy (liv1234):
I think it's C.
OpenStudy (welshfella):
to do this you multiply the top and bottom of the fraction by the conjugate of sqrt3+sqrt6
which is sqrt3 - sqrt 6
so we have (sqrt3 - sqrt6)(sqrt3 - sqrt6)
-----------------------
(sqrt3 - sqrt6)(sqrt3 + sqrt6)
= 3 - 2sqrt18 + 6
-------------
3 - 6
can you continue with this?
