which equation is an identity? 7-(9x+3)=-9x-4 6m-5=7m+5-m 10p-6-p=12p-3(p-2) 3y+2=3y-2 Which equation has no solution? 5v+3=5v-5 2x-4=2x-7+x 2y+5-y=2y-3(y-6) 7z+9=-7z-6

OpenStudy (danjs):

The second, if you try to solve for the variable, you will end up with a false statement, 3=1 or something like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks! do you know anything about the first one because I'm not sure what identity is?

OpenStudy (danjs):

the opposite, if you solve and get a true statement, like 3=3, then there is no limit to the value of the variable , it will always be true

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

10p-6-p......... This one is identity.

OpenStudy (danjs):

nah, watch the negative times negative on the distribution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the identity equation, would it be the first option? or did I mess up with using negatives?

OpenStudy (danjs):

the first goes to 7 - 9x - 3 = -9x - 4 or False, 4=-4 , not identity

OpenStudy (danjs):

none of em are, maybe a mistype on a sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh sorry its 10p+6 not -6
