OpenStudy (llroberts43):

Factor Completely - 30(y+1)x^2+10(y+1)x-20(y+1). We have never had a problem like this in class yet but our instructor assigned this for homework. I don't have a clue how to write this up. I understand the GCF is 10(y+1) but that is as far as I have gone. I think my problem is mostly formatting. Any help would be appreciated.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

What do you get when you factor out the GCF ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

are you able to factor out the GCF at all?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For each term, you can ask yourself what time the GCF equals that term. For example for the first term \[10(y+1)*?? = -30(y+1)\]

|dw:1454761977156:dw| That'll be the simplest i gues..coz the second part that is|dw:1454762052236:dw| does'nt have any real zeroes Hope this is helpful.
