HELP!!

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

@4everaddicted2anime

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

what is it

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Find three solutions of the equation. y=-2x

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

im not good at that knd of math sorry

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Since there is no b value, the y intercept is zero

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Its okay lakota thanks

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

okay so the solutions have to equal zero?

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

fan though?

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

a. (0, 0), (3, –8), (–2, 4) c. (–2, 4), (1, –2), (0, 0) b. (1, –2), (0, 0), (–1, 1) d. (–2, 4), (1, –2), (2, –3)

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Gotcha

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

thx

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

no. that is just for one of the solutions

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

lol

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Oh my bad

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

which one do you think is right?

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Im thinking A?

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

?

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

lakota can you fan me

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Okay. The equation is y=-2x Lets plug in some of the coordinates for A. First lets use (0,0) -2(0) does equal 0, so this one is correct. Now lets check (3,-8) -2(3) equals -6 and not -8, so we can rule this option out.

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

okay so a is wrong

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

how about c?

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

?

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

those were my guesses

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

Lets do the same thing that was done with option A, but now with option C. First lets try (-2,4) -2(-2) does equal 4, so this one is right. Lets now try (1,-2) -2(1) does equal -2, so this one is right as well. We have already done the last one (0,0) so this is the answer.

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

c is correct?

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

yes

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Okay

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Do you mind helping with just one more? im sorry

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

sure

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

sorry ill brb restroom

OpenStudy (lakota1999):

?

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

For the equation , y=-4x-5, tell whether its graph passes through the first quadrant. Explain how you know. a. Yes; for x>0 some y-values are positive. b. No; for x>0 the y-values are negative. c. Yes; for x<0 some y-values are positive. d. No; for x<0 the y-values are negative.

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Im back sorry

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

The graph is on the link https://www.google.com/?ion=1&espv=2#q=graph%20y%3D-4x-5

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

okay

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

what is a quadrant?

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

These are the different quadrants

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

oh it doesnt pass through

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

yup

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

so its B or D

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

yep

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Is it B?

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

yup

OpenStudy (imsleeziboii):

Sweet thanks so much!

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):
