does the vocabulary in the sentence make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Children at a young age work avidly on the things they enjoy and thus, endeavoring in their favorite subject; even more so, if the parents were to compel them to work on their weaknesses, rather than only their strength.

OpenStudy (serenity74):

Compel them to work? I am not sure if that works in this sentence. Also, please post your questions in the english section you posted it in the math section. Sorry if I came off rude but I don't want you to get in trouble for no reason. Thank you and have a lovely Sunday :)

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

encourage them to work, motivates them to work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's fine. lol i just need to use vocabuolary that's why i used avidly, endeavor and compel. I didn't even notice where i posted it sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you! is everything else okay in the sentence?

OpenStudy (serenity74):

Yea I think everything else is ok and lol it's okay! :)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

'endeavouring in' sounds a bit odd I think . Perhaps ' Endeavouring to achieve something' is better.
