OpenStudy (tennis5518):
I didn't get it but I know what ratio and cross multiply
OpenStudy (zale101):
Apply that concept to your question.
OpenStudy (zale101):
I will set up an example.
If i had a rectangle box 1 by 2, and i ordered a new one but larger and it was 4 but i don't know the length of it. But i know the ratio is by a half.
|dw:1455513021301:dw|
OpenStudy (zale101):
The ratio is 1/2, so i know what ever fraction i got for (4/?) it will get further reduced to 1/2.

So, to do this problem, i will set it up in proportion. I know that my fraction (4/?) will equal to 1/2)
