So same kind of process your f(x)=56 and you x=8 so you have the equation xk=f(x) can you try and plug in the numbers? I know you can!
MsBrains (ms-brains):
I don;'s get it,
f(x) = 56, but then x = 8?
How am I supposed to plug those in..?
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Into your equation the f(x)=xk equation what goes in your f(x) part?
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
You said it!

Well this has to do with consistant slopes which ones can you knock out right away?
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Like if you plug in x values which would be constant change for 2 of those instantly
MsBrains (ms-brains):
I got no idea..
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Can you think of it in a slope way?
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Are you good with slope?

MsBrains (ms-brains):
I guess..
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Its okay okay think about the second and third options this is kinda tricky to explain
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
If you plug in 0 1 2 for x what would you get for the 2nd function
MsBrains (ms-brains):
I think the correct answer is A.y=4/x
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Yes because if you plug in x values 1,2,3 your not getting a constant rate of change 4/1=4 4/2=2 4/3=4/3 we dont know what this function is decreasing by because its not constant

Unlike 7x if you plug in 0,1,2 for 0 you will get 7,14,21 you know the constant rate of change is 7
MsBrains (ms-brains):
So, A is correct?
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Yes
MsBrains (ms-brains):
Are you absolutely sure? Last I got this wrong, and it made me do it allover again?
OpenStudy (kayders1997):
Yes
