No entry signs are to be cut from a rectangular metal sheet. Each no entry sign must have a diameter of 40 inches. How much material is left after producing the necessary signs?

material left = area of rectangle - 6*area of signs
Calculate the area of the outer rectangle. Then calculate the area of one circle. Multiply the area of one circle by the number of circles. Subtract the total are of the circles from the area of the rectangle.
* 6 * area of 1 sign
