Which answer is correct? What is the difference between movements along a demand curve and shifts in a demand curve? 1.Movements along a demand curve are caused by changes in quantifiable things like income and prices of other goods, while shifts in a demand curve are caused by unquantifiable things like preferences and consumer tastes. 2. Both are caused by changes in the price and changes in other factors. 3. Movements along a demand curve are caused by changes in the price of the good itself, while shifts in a demand curve are caused by changes in other factors. or

4. Shifts in a demand curve are caused by changes in the price of the good itself, while movements along a demand curve are caused by other factors.

Deathlynine do you know the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's either answer 1 or answer 4, but I'm not sure at all

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

A movement occur when a change of quantity supplied caused only by the price in change. A shift in a demand or supply curve occurs when a good quantity is demanded, or supply change even if the price remain the same.

So is the answer the third one?

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

The answer could be number 1. I might be wrong in this though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, I see. I also think that it's either number 1 or number 3... I just want someone to confirm which one is the correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you perhaps know someone who could know the answer?

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

Hmmm, I say go with number 3 cause I'm not that sure with number 1. All I know about the demand curve and shift is what I types above. Sadly I don't know who else knows the answer.

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

Maybe wait till someone else see this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All right, thank you so much!

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

Hope I help anyway I can. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:-)

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

If you want, you can send a message to one of the student or teacher thats currently online. Its an option though. :)

Oh, that's a good idea!! Thank you!
