Can someone rewrite this poem Poem #2 Chapter Heading For we have thought the longer thoughts And gone the shorter way. And we have danced to devils' tunes, Shivering home to pray; To serve one master in the night, Another in the day. ‐Ernest Hemingway

OpenStudy (islandchick60):

rewrite the whole poem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i am having hard time understanding the whole poem so i dont know how to rewrite it

OpenStudy (islandchick60):

this is basically saying that they lead a double life. one in the day one in the night. it is showing how they are not pleased by the "devil" that they dance with they do his biding which is no their choice and so they dont like their choices

OpenStudy (islandchick60):

i hope that helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i re-write the first three lines?

OpenStudy (islandchick60):

line one= we have thought out every consequence line two=but have chosen the easy/wrong/tricky way line three=and have been very bad technically that is what it is saying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thank you i think i can do the rest.

OpenStudy (islandchick60):
