im a little confused about this one.
Okay. So this problem has a few steps... when looking at the problem >> “One less than the product of 19 and Chau’s savings” What do you think the answer is? What first steps do you think we should take? Why? :) @Barrelracing
product of is + sign right? i am getting confused on the first part
Unfortunately no... the product is the result of multiplying. So in the problem it has 2 parts...
1st part: ONE LESS THAN (product) 2nd part: PRODUCT
So before we can get the 1st part we need to know the PRODUCT which we can find by completing the 2nd part 1st.. So since we are using \(c\) to represent Chau’s savings how would we write the product of \(19\) and \(c\)?
19c or 19 * c?
Yes! Even though this may sound very confusing... you got it! Awesome job! Okay... so we found out the 2nd part. Now we can find the 1st part and finally put it all together! :)
So now we have to do one LESS than the product of \(19c\).
Do you have any idea about how we may write that?
1-19c?
Well that would be saying 19c LESS. But its ONE less. So you are correct, you just need to switch the numbers around... can you try one more time :)
19c - 1?
Right! Awesome work today! :)
thank you for your help. its highly appreciated.
