One of the main flaws of Open Study is its organization. I have only been on this website for a short time, but I have noticed that a large amount of people post in the “Mathematics" section even when their question has nothing to do with mathematics. This way, they will get the quickest response. Not many people regularly check out sections like "Applied Multimedia”, so people decide not to post in these sections.
My ideas? Combine related sections. Also, users should have a “feed" where they can see new questions posted in all sections that they are studying. This way, they don't have to visit each individual section to look for new questions. Think of your Facebook feed. You get information from all the people you friend in your feed; you do not have to visit the pages of each of your individual friends to see what they are up to. Open Study should put all the subjects you are studying on a type of feed. It would, in my opinion, boost productivity. I also believe that there are too many sections in Open Study. Did you know that OS has a section for the “History of Sewer Systems & Types?” A lot of the sections are downright useless with barely any members. I’m not sure what kind of deal OS has with MIT and HippoCampus, but most of these sections are duplicates of already-existing sections. We have sections like “Biology”, “HippoCampus Biology”, “MIT OCW Biology”, “AP Bio”, “BIO120F11-Adaptation and Biodiversity”, and “MIT 7.01SC Fundamentals of Biology.” In my opinion, Open Study definitely does not need to have as many sections as it does. That’s just my two cents. What’s yours?
OpenStudy has an Activated Sludge section.
Ah yes...because we all have dozens of questions about activated sludge
definitely has been suggest before with many other users, we try our best to politely tell new people that they are in the wrong section and they should post in blah blah blah section
Yes Harry but the problem is not a lot of people may be in the section that the user needs help with wich is why they post in the math section as @Aveline said lol
Yeah. What if someone has a question about activated sludge, but no one studying that section is online (or will be online anytime soon)?
which is why we can tag users @Hayhayz
And that leads to the issue of no one coming to help which leads to mass tagging
The main problem is that OS needs to organize their sections more efficiently so questions can get more traffic. What if you don't know of anyone to tag? Honestly, how many users check the "Sewerage in practice" section on a daily basis?
I've seen sections with as little as 3 people studying them. If these sections are really so unpopular, they should either a) be combined with another OS section, or b) removed completely.
nobody is in those sections so it doesn't really matter, thats why the sections are shown from most active to least active, u can choose not to scroll down, it doesn't matter
Yeah, I agree. They should just make 2 or 3 big sections
I totally agree with you @Aveline :)
\(\large+ 1\) yes combine related topics would be better we can also add this-some feature with which we could combine the topics of our choice and this way the posts of all those topics of our choice appear together on our screen. something like this http://prntscr.com/apzozx
"History of Sewer Systems & Types" and "Activated Sludge" are both subtopics in a subiect. It's like the subtopic Trigonometry in the Mathematics subject. But, yes, I agree with your overall message. :)

These are my ideas for basic sections ^ People should be encouraged to post in subsections (I'll post a pic later)
@imqwerty Love your photo <3 <3 <3 That is exactly what I'm talking about
Something called subsections. And hey @chosenmatt If I recall correctly, I believe you made a post half a year ago about leaving OS. Welcome back.
Llolol XD ty @Aveline :)
thx @Wit c:
No problem. :)
very detailed .. great feedback
YES WE NEED THAT OFF TOPIC FOR PEOPLE THAT WRITE RANDOM THINGS xD
@ILovePuppiesLol If any of the site designers get anything out of this, I hope it's that we get an off-topic section and a feed x3
oh a feed like, u can see all the questions that the people u fanned have posted?
@ILovePuppiesLol Well, I thought that there should be a feature where you can see questions from several OS sections at one time (so you don't have to check each individual section for new questions).
@Aveline If you get @Jaynator495 s extension, then you'll find that he added an off topic subject :p
@TheSmartOne Jaynator495's extension? I'm not sure what your comment means...
@Aveline If I was someone important here, I would make sure they would do this. It is a great idea!

I know ppl ask Spanish questions in the math section wen theres a Spanish section
jay's extension adds many features its kinda like different open study experience , its only available on google chrome i think @aveline
Jay's extension also allows him to seize your account whenever he wants to. I approve.
