Can Someone Who Can Actually Explain Instead Of Saying A Random Awnser Help me Plz?! .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The radius of circle P is 24 centimeters. The radius of circle Q is 8 centimeters. Which statement correctly compares the area of circle P with the area of circle Q? A.The area of circle P is 3 times the area of circle Q. B.The area of circle P is 6 times the area of circle Q. C.The area of circle P is 9 times the area of circle Q. D.The area of circle P is 12 times the area of circle Q.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

Yes - I can explain First - write the equation for the area of a circle in terms of its radius.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

Are you going to write that equation? If oyu don't know it then you need to look itup - it is the only thing required for this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A≈1809.56

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I asked for the general equation - with "r" in it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sory but im stupid and i dont know .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry-

OpenStudy (mrnood):

if you don't know - how did you work out the value A≈1809.56?? type 'formula for area of circle' into google

OpenStudy (welshfella):

A useful thing to remember is if the area of the radii is 1:3 then the ratio of the areas is 1^1 : 3^2.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

recall: $$\Huge A=\pi r^2$$
