OpenStudy (pphalke):

use the intercepts to graph the equation -x+2y=4

OpenStudy (pphalke):

@mayankdevnani @mathmale @Aveline @ace-n-it @mathstudent55

satellite73 (satellite73):

to find the x intercept, put \(=0\) and solve for\(x\), i.e. solve \[-x=4\]

satellite73 (satellite73):

then to find the \(y\) intercept, put \(x=0\)solve \[2y=4\]for \(y\)

satellite73 (satellite73):

let me know what you get

OpenStudy (pphalke):

for -x=4 don't u divide by -x and it gets a strange number

satellite73 (satellite73):

just change the sign of both sides for example, if \[-x=7\] then \[x=-7\]

satellite73 (satellite73):

you don't divide by the variable the math teachers would say "divide by \(-1\)" but that really just means change the sign

OpenStudy (pphalke):

y intercept (0,2)

satellite73 (satellite73):

yes

OpenStudy (pphalke):

x intercept (-4,0) ??

satellite73 (satellite73):

yes
