OpenStudy (pphalke):

please help will fan and medal for this

OpenStudy (pphalke):

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the slope is calculated from the change in y/change in x between 2 points read the 2 points from the axes: x1=0 y1= ? x2= ? y2=0

OpenStudy (mrnood):

if you're not going to reply I'm out in a couple of mins...

OpenStudy (pphalke):

I don't know how to find the points I know 0 but I don't know th other

OpenStudy (pphalke):

(0,3) and (0,-4)

OpenStudy (pphalke):

?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

well close the second is correct - but the first is the wrong way round - always read the x first (I gave a hint on my drawing)

OpenStudy (pphalke):

(3,0)

OpenStudy (mrnood):

OOOPS sorry - my mistake (0,3) is correct but the OTHER one is (-4,0) so x1= 0 y1= 3 x2 = -4 y2 = 0 the slope m is calculated from \[m= \frac{ y2-y1 }{ x2-x1}\] so substitute the numbers into that equation to find m

OpenStudy (pphalke):

-3/-4

OpenStudy (mrnood):

OK But both top and bottom are negative so write this more simply - and you have your correct answer...

OpenStudy (pphalke):

so 3/4

OpenStudy (mrnood):

yes - correct - well done
