OpenStudy (kingdomkey):

What are the coordinates of the image of the point (–3, 6) after a dilation with a center of (0, 0) and scale factor of 1/3?

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

(-1,2 ) ?

OpenStudy (deadpooi):

A dilation is a type of transformation that changes the size of the image. The scale factor, sometimes called the scalar factor, measures how much larger or smaller the image is. (-3, 6) (-3*1/3, 6*1/3) = (-1, 2) Dilations can also reduce the size of shape. This example demonstrations a dilation of 1/3. Any time that the scale factor is a fraction, the image will get smaller.

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

multiply both by 1/3

OpenStudy (deadpooi):

What sparrow said.

OpenStudy (sparrow2):

@DeadPooI how are you doing man :D

OpenStudy (deadpooi):

@sparrow2 Fine as a sparrow!

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

I thinks -1,2 too @KingdomKey

OpenStudy (kingdomkey):

It was correct.
