OpenStudy (gniiij):

you want to use the Pythagorean theorem

OpenStudy (gniiij):

which is a^2+b^2=c^2

OpenStudy (gniiij):

c being the hypotenuse

563blackghost (563blackghost):

So we know of the side that is the farthest from the angle which would make it as the opposite side and we want to know the hypotenuse so we would use sine... \(\Huge{\sin(45)=\frac{3\sqrt{2}}{x}}\)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

you have the length of t he opposite side of anggle 45 degrees and you need the hypotenuse SOH CAH TOA

OpenStudy (hannahduhe):

how would you put that in a calculator

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well since the known number is in the numerator we would divide by sin so.... \(\Huge{3\sqrt{2}~/\sin(45)}\) This is how you would type it in the calculator... Note: Make sure your cal is set in degree mode and not radian mode.

OpenStudy (hannahduhe):

@563blackghost thanks so much

563blackghost (563blackghost):

np ^^
