OpenStudy (pphalke):

how do I graph the inequality x>6y?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

OpenStudy (bmk614):

This would be equivalent to y<(1/6)x. This would be in y=mx+b form. The y-intercept would be at (0.0). If you plug any number into x, you will get the y value of that value. You only need two point for a line.

OpenStudy (pphalke):

would it be y<(1/6)0 if that's what I were to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here no y intercept so it passes through origin.

OpenStudy (pphalke):

like this @surjithayer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

consider \[y=\frac{ 1 }{ 6 }x\] when x=6,y=1 draw a line through (0,0) and (6,1)
