Help Find the perimeter of the quadrilateral defined by the points A(0,-2), B(-1,1), C(-4,0), D(-3,-3).

@Directrix

If we plot it we see that each side looks to be equal to each other so we can say that this is a square...so to find the perimeter we would choose two points and find the distance between them using the distance formula... \(\huge{d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}}}\) Lets use coords A and B....we would input them into the equation... \(\huge{d=\sqrt{(1-0)^{2}+(1-(-2))^{2}}}\) Once you find the distance between them both you would multiply it by 4 to get the perimeter...

Directrix (directrix):

AB = √10 BC = √10 CD = √10 DA = √10 I did have √31 for DA.

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

Oh ok is that what i put as the answer?

Directrix (directrix):

You are asked to find the perimeter which is the sum of the lengths of the 4 sides. I don't know if you are to approximate the perimeter. Look at the question in your text to determine how to leave the answer.

Directrix (directrix):

@TylerMckinney16 Did you approximate the perimeter result or go with the exact value?

OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

I went with the exact value.
