If (7, -4) is on the graph of F(x), which point must be on the graph of the inverse function F -1(x)? A. (-4, 7) B. (-7, 4) C. (7, -4) D. (4, -7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello again

OpenStudy (mightychondrion):

(-4,7) I believe since you flip the domain and range of inverse functions from the parent function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be -7,4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldnt*

OpenStudy (mightychondrion):

I just did the work, it's (-4,7). I can show what I did if you'd like

OpenStudy (mightychondrion):

y=-(4/7)x because it goes through the coordinate (7,-4) Thus, the inverse would be: x=-(4/7)y 7x=-4y -(7/4)x=y If you graph that inverse function, y=-(7/4)x, you find that it contains the point (-4,7)
