Can someone actually explain this to me? f^-1(3) when f(x) = (2x+3)/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RhondaSommer ?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

It basically telling you to find the inverse and then plug in 3 into the inverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would i need to do to find the inverse. the fraction is messing me up @FortyTheRapper @IrishBoy123

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

you have \( y = \dfrac{2x+3}{5}\) re-arrange as so you have \( x = ......\) in terms of y that's the inverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x = (2x+3)/5 ? @IrishBoy123

OpenStudy (irishboy123):
