http://prntscr.com/azy7nd I'm having issues with this one
Haha, I was just about to tag you.
ok very nice i m here so can you calculi the length of bigger and smaller square sides ?
remember this given length of half diagonal make an angle of 90 degree - ok. ?
do you understand me ?
just use pythagora first for the length of bigger square edge and after this for the smaller square edge - ok. ?
So, I do 4^2+9^2=x^2? @jhonyy9
but doesn't the Pythagorean theorem not give the are?
for the length of biger square edge there is x the length of edge so than will be 9^2 +9^2 = x^2 bc x mean the hypotenuse ok. ?
and so make in case of smaller square too - ok. ?
so you have got it ?
Wait, so I'm a bit confused. How is this going to help us find the area? Also, why are we doing 9^2+9^2?
ok first there is the biger square with half diagonal length of 9 - yes ?
Yep
|dw:1462316121513:dw|
so how you calculi the x ?
just use pythagora - not ?
so do you see it now ?
than you get the x you can calculi easy the area of biger square - yes ?
and so in this way you need calculi the length of edge of smaller square and so calculi area of smaler square
Ah! I see. Alright.
than you have got these areas so just subtract the smaler area from biger and will get area of shaded region - right ?
How did I find area of smaller square?
first you need calculi the length of edge of smaler square exactly same with how you have did in case of biger square - ok. ?
have got it ?
write 4^2 +4^2 = y^2 let be the edge y in this case ok. ?
Oh! I understand now. Alright! I get it. : )
ok so was my pleasure good luck bye bye
I got 193.9999999999999990559 as the answer Is this correct? @jhonyy9
@mww I just need someone to confirm I got the right answer for this one
um you should actually get a whole number in this situation. Remember Pythagoras gives you a squared answer for a side. BUT in area of square, you want your answer squared. So you don't need to change anything: |dw:1462335353723:dw|
