I need help on this . When solving a radical equation, John and Tim came to two different conclusions. John found a solution, while Tim's solution did not work in the equation. Create and justify two situations: one situation where John is correct and a separate situation where Tim is correct.

You need the same radical equation for both situations?

Um I guess so I'm not sure they didn't say use different ones exactly so yeah I would say you could.

Radical equations will often give a valid root but sometimes the root obtained does not fit the original equation . This type of root is called extraneous.
