What is bias or point of view? How does it impact the way people interpret events from the past?

OpenStudy (j.f):

It looks like they are looking for more of a specific answer, but this is what I think. Everyone as a point of view; everyone has bias. A worldview is how one sees the world, which can be related to a point of view. So in this capacity, or view, or how one sees the world effects how one sees the past in every aspect. One might be progressive or conservative, for example. When considering Roe vs. Wade, most times, progressives, with their point of view, will support it. Conservatives, most of the time, will not. This is because of their beliefs, point of views, bias, etc. Having a point of view, or a certain way of looking at the world, will effect how any individual sees the world in every capacity.

I understand but I need a short and sweet answer it is for my study guide for U.S history. I have a test coming up soon and really need help on my study guide. Do you think you could shorten it please? It would be greatly appreciated.

@J.F

OpenStudy (j.f):

Thats up to you. Concentrate on the big picture, then write. Look fo ways to shorten but lose its effectivity. You have a beautiful brain inside that head. Get thinking

OpenStudy (maddielb):

It can impact the way people interpret things from the past because if a piece of writing about history can come from someone who had their own opinion about what happened and not what actually happened. So people reading it could be getting wrong information, and just be reading the writers own opinions.

OpenStudy (j.f):

*But not lose its effectiveness

Thank you for the help both of you. Im glad you guys came along.
