if i have to do PEMDAS and the question is 4(3) - 2 +(6+4 x 2) how come 6+4x2 get an answer of 14 but for some reason im getting 20. the answer is suppose to be 24 but im getting it wrong. help please idk what im doing wrong when im adding up those numbers in the parentheses. 6+4 is 10 x2 is 20 so how is it 14???
\(\large\rm 4(3)-2+(6+4\times2)\) \(\large\rm \color{orangered}{P}EMDAS\) Tells us that we should start in the parenthesis. \(\large\rm 4(3)-2+(\color{orangered}{6+4\times2})\)
But we have to go back to our PEMDAS again to see which operation we do first within these parenthesis.
\(\large\rm PE\color{orangered}{M}DAS\) multiplication comes before addition, ya?
So ya, multiply first,\[\large\rm 4(3)-2+(6+\color{orangered}{4\times2})\]
thank you sooo much im studying alone and this was very helpful.
