What do you think it is?

Ancestor reciprocity is still found in Chinese belief today. The reciprocity works out like this: you take care of the ancestors and the ancestors take care of you. It can be seen in the strong belief of sons responsibility taking care of elderly parents and powerful social influences to avoid dishonoring the family name. The belief is part of Confucianism and evidenced in ancient through modern history.
so which choice @wwhitlock
That would require a direct answer. But I would say it's not and answer that says it has no effect on culture. Religious leaders and everybody followed the practice to some extent. Choose wisely. Don't dishonor your family :)
k, thx
