OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

Please help

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

use the cosin low what say cos x° = adjacent side divide hypotenuse

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

13 divided by 12?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

We see that we know of the hypotenuse as well as the adjacent side of the angle so we would use the trig ratio of cos... \(\Huge{\cos(x)=\frac{12}{13}}\) To find x we would invert it... \(\Huge{\cos^{-1}(\frac{12}{13})=x}\)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

or you write x = arccos (12/13 = ?

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

I got 1.083 *3 is repeating*

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Hmmmm...if you are using a calculator make sure to have it in `degree mode` not radian mode...

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

okie

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

I got the same

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Hmmm what kind of cal are u using?

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

a scientific cal. I punched in 13 divided by 12

563blackghost (563blackghost):

I see now. You have to press \(\Large{\cos^{-1}}\) and then type 12 divided by 13....

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

0.92293633399?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Not quite.

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

am I doing something wrong?

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

Im using google cal btw

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):

WAIT I think i know now

OpenStudy (dreamsawakes):
