Graph the points in table, connect a line through them, and find out.

OpenStudy (tabpernick):

d?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Explain why you picked d.

OpenStudy (erak):

You can do it mathematically or logically, math would be similar to what I did before, but logically it's more like. The linear represents a direct variation with the equation y = 5x, so that means it crosses (0,0) coming from left to right. x values that are negative will be below the y axis, which is nowhere near the quadratic. x values that are positive will be above the y axis on the right side, where it will eventually intersect.

OpenStudy (tabpernick):

i used desmos and plotted the point ..it doesn't look like they would intersect?

OpenStudy (erak):

If you want to use desmos, f(x) = 1/2(x^2) + 2 and y = 5x

OpenStudy (tabpernick):

maybe im wrong . idk

OpenStudy (tabpernick):

not very good at math.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Plot the three points and draw a line through them. You can also just realize it's y=5x as Erak said, and graph that.

OpenStudy (tabpernick):

they do intersect.

OpenStudy (tabpernick):

a?

OpenStudy (erak):

yup.

OpenStudy (tabpernick):

Yay! Thanks for your guys help! :)
