WHOS GOOD AT CIVICS? :)
i am
if you help me ill help you
hi do you need help...whats the question
@allys88 hey are you good at civics.. i need some help with assignments.. :)
sure what do you need
ok this is the assignment.. ( i'd pick the song format because its the easiest one in my opinion) Choose a format. You have choices in how you present this information to the townspeople. -Do you like to write songs? You can create a song using the Song Template. -Are you an artist? You could create a comic strip using the Comic Strip Information. -Do you like to talk? You could write a speech using the Speech Template. Create your presentation. No matter which format you choose, be sure to include the following: description of checks and balances viewpoint of Federalists on ratifying the Constitution viewpoint of Anti-federalists on ratifying the Constitution
@allys88
Let's start with checks and balances
wait so which format are you going to pick so i can give you the format..
You can choose any format ill just give you the information. In my opinion, I would do the speech because you can just write a short answer and that's basically a speech. Checks and balances was a way of ensuring not too much power went to one branch of the government. We created the three branches of government to prevent an abuse of power. The Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches work together to spread the power. The Legislative branch can pass laws and declare war, but the executive branch can veto these laws. The Judicial branch will interpret these laws and make sure they are not against the Constitution.
no the speech one is 5 paragraphs
Ok... how long is the comic strip and the song? The Federalists wanted a central government to rule the land. They wrote the Constitution originally without the Bill of Rights which is the first ten amendments in the Constitution that state basic freedoms and protection for citizens. They assumed they would be implied and respected. The anti-federalists did not want a central government, they wanted a loose alliance of states. They pushed for the Bill of Rights because they did not want the government to infringe on their rights as the King of Great Britain had.
Song Template Text Version This template will help you write a song about ratifying the Constitution. Remember to include lines that explain checks and balances, as well as the viewpoints of the Federalists and Anti-federalists. In each section, each line should have nearly the same number of words. Opposite lines, meaning line numbers 1 and 3, or 2 and 4, should rhyme at the end. Feel free to use this template in a creative way. You could move the bridge to another location, for example, or use your own rhyming pattern. An example verse appears at the bottom. Song Title: ____________________ Songwriter (That's you!): ____________________ Reviewer (That's your parent or other trusted adult.): ____________________ Reviewer suggestions: ___________________________________________________________ Verse 1: This section describes specific details relating to the song's main idea. 1. 2. 3. 4. Chorus: This section contains lines that repeat after each verse. Usually the chorus contains the song title and main idea. 1. 2. 3. 4. Bridge: These lines are like a bridge linking two sections of the song. It shows a transition between moods or ideas. 1. 2. Verse 2: This section describes specific details relating to the song’s main idea, but is different from Verse 1. 1. 2. 3. 4. Chorus: This section contains lines that repeat after each verse (same as first chorus). 1. 2. 3. 4. Verse 3: This section describes specific details relating to the song’s main idea, but is different from Verse 1 or Verse 2. 1. 2. 3. 4. Chorus: This is the final repetition of the chorus. You may change a couple words or a whole line for dramatic effect. 1. 2. 3. 4. Example Chorus: Classes and notes can sure be a chore, When I do my own work, I get to rule. My own written ideas are never a bore, Civics is by far the best subject in school.
and this is the comic strip: Comic Strip Information Text Version A comic strip is a fun idea! You can create the comic strip by hand or on your computer. Be sure to include checks and balances and the viewpoints on ratifying the Constitution in your comic strip story. Options for creating and submitting your comic strip: You could use a word processing document and images saved on your computer. You could use a paint program. You could take a screen capture to save as a picture image if necessary.
@allys88 you there?
yeah
so which one are you going to pick..
which one do you want...the song seems pretty long but that depends on how long you have till this is due
how long do u have
i need it done in 30 min max..
so do you want todo the comic strip?
ok then definitely the comic strip
do you need help with putting it into the format
i need help with everything.. do you think you can do it?
what option are you going to choose for the comic strip?
ok so do it online or if you are good at drawing you can do it by hand but for your time frame lets do it one a computer. start with the first box and in it put a text bubble that introduces the story EX: the year is around 1790 1790 because the constitution was ratified in 1989 and the Bill of Rights was ratified in 91
how do i do it online? what website?
ok so theres 3 boxes... what do i put in the first one... ?
how do i even write anything.. its not letting me type
what I wrote above start with the first box and in it put a text bubble that introduces the story EX: the year is around 1790 1790 because the constitution was ratified in 1989 and the Bill of Rights was ratified in 91
ok so first pick a background look at the banner at the top where it says scenes and textables
ok i picked a text bubble so in it i write.. what do i write in it... give me a sentence
1790 because the constitution was ratified in 1989 and the Bill of Rights was ratified in 91 doesnt really make sense
So those are the dates when they were ratified and we just want to choose a time frame around there hence, 1790 so the first sentence: The year was 1790 and the US had just been formed
thats what i put in the first bubble?
yep Second box: This nation's leaders were arguing over the new document created to govern the citiens
dont you think the sentences should be longer or like two sentnecnes?
no, you should keep it shorter like in real comic books so you have the readers attention...also add characters and backgrounds to make it more interesting
ok so third box?
third box: Two sides had already formed, the federalists and the anti-federalists fourth box: The federalist wanted a central governement and the anti-federalists wanted more power to the states this is when you should add more dialogue fomr the characters
theres only three boxes unless i should do 4?
click add cells on the bottom banner and choose how many you want
ok...
so how many text bubbles do i need to have? are you going to stop at 4?
@allys88
no...you should choose as many cells as you can if you have leftovers that doesn't matter just leave them blank 5th box: the federalists had created something called the constitution but the anti-federalists had some concerns add some dialogue in the next box about how the antifederalists were upset that there were no listed rights do you get how to do this now
no... i need help with the whole thing.. can i just stop at 4?
no you have to show the entire story in order to do well on the project
look at what i wrote before at the very beginning, the summary of the bullet points you listed they will help you plug in some other information
ok can you keep helping me then... 6th box? how many boxes are we going to do?
quite a few but just add backgrounds to make it look nice and it wil be fine... so the next box write: Then the anti-federalists and the federalists had an idea another box: They created the bill of rights! This defined the rights of every citizen but was still amendable so htey could change it when they need to
next box explain some of the rights, like the 1st amendment next box: The constituion was finished and the bill of rights was ratified in 1791 next box: now they had to build their government from what the constitution stated next box: there were to be three branches legislative judicial and executive next box put a picture of a white house looking ish building and a character that looks like a president next box: these three branches created a system of checks and balances next: explain each branch in three separate boxes last box: the new nation was finally established THIS IS JUST A TEMPLATE...DO NOT COPY IT WORD FOR WORD...YOU SHOULD DO YOUR OWN WORK GOOD LUCK:):):):)
i dont think it will let me add 8 boxes .. because i think ill just stop at 8
you can add more rows...otherwise it won't include everything is this do Monday bc I can help u more tomorrow
no its due in 15 min!
it will let me add up to 8 but i have to purchase it :(
ok just follow my template and u can finish it quicker ...try finding a different website
i have to go best of luck if needed do it by hand with a colored pencil
ok but can i finish at box 8?
I guess but it won't look nice and your grade will be knocked down I would not doing it because to be honest you probably will fail if you only include like a third of the info needed
alright bye it like 1:30 if you ever need anymore help just message me!
yea i know but can you just please help me finish it.. i need it done if not i fail
